One of the most challenging research and practicing areas in sustainability is how to quantify and analyze the degree of sustainability of a system of interest. The Ecological Input-Output (EOI), Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), thermodynamic and computational approaches are among the examples that have demonstrated wide applications. This session is specifically devoted to both theoretical and practical contributions of those and possibly many other innovative methodologies for analyzing sustainability problems in a systematic way. Successful applications in industries as well as general environment will be particularly interested. Computer-aided tools for general application purpose will be also welcomed.
