2006 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Advances in Metabolic Engineering and Bioinformatics (II)

This session will focus on Metabolic Engineering as a molecular-systems approach to the understanding and utilization of metabolic processes. The goal of the session is to discuss very recent advances in modeling and experimental approaches necessary to understand the integration and control of genetic, catalytic, and other biochemical events that govern cellular metabolism. Topics of interest include: reconstruction of metabolic as well as gene regulatory networks; control analysis; genomic, proteomic and/or metabolomic analysis; optimization; and heterologous pathways. We invite papers on the development and application of these techniques to cells derived from plant, insect, and animal tissues.
