(262g) Chemical Engineering in Biology and Medicine: a Retrospective Perspective

Chemical engineers began their romance with biology and medicine nearly 50 years ago. Spurred on initially by targeted NIH funding and then by scientific developments, we have ventured into virtually all areas of biomedicine. An interpretation of where we have been and where we are going will be presented from the viewpoint of the author's experience.
