LARGE DYNAMIC CONTACT ANGLES The method for calculating dynamic contact angles as a function of capillary number by de Gennes, has been extended to large contact angles. The fluid mechanical solution by Huh and Scriven (creeping flow) has been used. The dynamic contact angle is seen to have two values at intermediate capillary numbers and none at large capillary numbers. The implications will be discussed. Comparison with the solution of Blake and Haynes, is also made.
