Carbon dioxide scrubbing using photosynthetic bacterial cultures requires optimization of the bioreactor conditions to promote inorganic carbon fixation over chemotropic modes of growth. To accomplish this, we redesigned the growth media and characterized the growth of cultures in this media. The growth is compared with standard media and the possibilities for utilizing this approach at larger scale are evaluated.
