Biosensors in Encephalitis

Biosensors, which are used extensively in the field of research and development due to their easy availability, low cost, sensitivity and highly selective nature. So, they are used in the field of next generation medicine and point detection markers for the disease. The main types of biosensors are electrochemical, optical, piezoelectric and thermal biosensors.

Encephalitis is a disease caused by a mosquito borne virus. It was first recognized in India. Starting from a viral infection and later leading to inflammation of brain it is a rare disease. Carbon nanoparticles based electrochemical biosensors are used for the detection of the detection of this disease. In this technique, electrochemical immunosensors are used for the detection of encephalitis virus.
