In recent years we were noticed about fires and explosions in grain storage installations that resulted in losses of millions of dollars and also with fatal victims, in the United States, France, Spain and also in Brazil.

The paper will discuss some occurrences of dust explosions, will describe the dust characteristics and will propose preventive measures.
