Event Big Data Analysis to Enhance the Work Site Safety Competency

Lack of the Work site safety competency（Move capabilities at the time of the abnormalities and dangerous forecast capabilities in a manufacturing site）is pointed out as one of the causes of serious accidents in chemical plants. In operation monitoring of chemical plant based on DCS (Distributed Control System), the alarm management is effective, because it is system to prevent flood of alarms at abnormal time, to optimize the priority and threshold value for individual alarms in order to allow the operator to accurately recognize the situation or to examine what specific actions should be taken specifically by plant alarm system reconstructing.

In this report, introduce a case of reconstructing the plant alarm system at JSR Chiba Plant. This effort contributes to raising the safety competency and safety of the entire team by close communication with standardization and systemization of individual operators and engineer knowledge. Now, the Plant Alarm Management is expanding into all petrochemical plants of JSR to enhance the Work site safety competency.
