Identification and Thermokinetics Of Autocatalytic Exothermic Decomposition Of HMX

HMX is investigated under dynamic conditions using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). An identification method based on numerical simulation technique is used to determine the characteristic parameters of the decomposition reaction, revealing that the decomposition of HMX is autocatalytic. Base on DSC data, its adiabatic condition parameters is evaluated. Isothermal DSC experiments confirmed that the decomposition of HMX is autocatalytic, and evaluation value of adiabatic condition parameters is consistent with the results of accelerating rate calorimeter (ARC) experiment .
